Entry #6: Reasons why I'm attending college

There are many reasons why I decided to attend college or obtain a college degree. Firstly, a college

serves as the optimum place to establish one's career. A college education can open many doors for a

students search for a career. Attending college will help me to acquire knowledge and skills in my

particular field of choice. Obtaining a college degree will create more room for employment and

more likely to be hired in at a higher pay. I want to create a positive atmosphere so that I can be a

better role model for my children. Creating a good or positive atmosphere and being a good role

model, I feel is the most important reason why I decided to attend Glendale community college. I

believe by building a solid foundation, I will be able to enhance my financial support for my children

to achieve a solid foundation for their careers. Attending college or furthering my education will

fulfill my need to learn and achieve the knowledge about things that interest me most.

Entry #7: Final Blog Reflection

I did like blogging because it enables you the author to express yourself when writing. Blogging also

helps or enables the author to think deeply in other to generate new ideas during or when writing on a
particular topic. Blogging is interesting and it can be done during one's leisure time.

I did take blogging experience seriously, because it helped me to improve upon my writing in various
topics without having or facing any difficulties during my writings. Blogging also helped me to

acquire more skills and knowledge in writing.

I also did learn a lot by blogging for the class such as creating or writing a blog and publishing it after
writing. Blogging as an assignment for the class is both useful and valuable. This is because it helps

students to acquire both knowledge and skills in writing and it helps students to improve upon their

writings.

I will encourage my instructor to maintain blogging as an assignment in class because blogging

serves as an optimum place to establish writing.

Entry #5 : Food,Inc

I watched the movie "Food, Inc." in class and I really learnt a lot about food and animal production

in America. Many people in America have no idea where their food comes from, and most people do

not care to know the source of their food they eat. Corn farmers in America are providing for the

demand and it is due to the fact that corn is a commodity crop that is heavily subsidized. Corn is less

expensive and it is easy to store. Most processed foods have some sort of arrangement of corn bi-

products. In the movie, corn is scientifically created to be fed to cows, who by nature or evolution

eats grass. Causing them to have multiple health issues and increasing the need for antibiotics. It

appears cheaper and more convenient for people to eat fast food and highly processed food. Ground

beef is being washed with ammonia to prevent E. Coli outbreaks. Chickens are being designed to

produce bigger breasts for high demands and also chickens are being design to grow twice as the

normal size of full grown chicken. After watching the movie, I strongly believe there should be a

change in our system of food and animal production.

Entry #4: Writing

Writing had always been one of my strength, but it was challenging to take that initial step past the high school. Five- paragraph essay form that constricted my ideas for so long. Moving past this form, however, has greatly opened my mind and my thoughts are now more complex because I have learnt how to sustain a logical arguments in an organised manner. My writing has become increasingly more concise and well organised.

Entry #3 : Wall-E

This video clip is about the use of technology and its effects on the society. What resonates with me about this clip is the movement of people in this clip and also everything been controlled by technology. This film does offer some relevant explanation or commentary on our present culture and society. This is because in this modern world, most of everything is been controlled by science and technology.
